What are Home Inclusions?

When many home builders and designers talk about the “amazing  inclusions” they offer, it is important to know what exactly is included in your basic home package vs. what is an upgraded item.

Inclusions are features, fixtures and appliances that are included in the initial base price of a home. This can range from the ceiling height to laundry tubs, stairs, electrical, flooring and more! These are also generally referred to as standard inclusions; separating them from upgrades which will incur additional costs.

When viewing a display home, it is important to realise that the display home is likely to showcase many upgraded features and inclusions, in addition to the standard inclusions.

For most builders, standard inclusions don’t tend to cover:

• Footpaths
• Fencing
• Decor
• Cooling and Heating Systems
• Landscaping
• Excavation of excess stone
• Excess Soil Removal

Although this can come as a little bit of a shock,  it is important to understand your standard inclusions.

• Rainwater tanks

Understanding the price

Many builders will advertise low pricing, which can actually mean that the level of inclusions you’re receiving with that price may not be that great! This can mean that you end up paying more for the upgrades that are important to you and your home.
